چکیده

To assure seismic isolation performance against design and beyond basis earthquakes in the nuclear facility components, lead inserted small-sized laminated rubber bearings (LRB), which has a 10 kN vertical load, have been designed quasi-statically tested to validate their mechanical properties previous studies. Following this study, shaking tests of these full-scale LRBs are performed discussed paper with dummy mass system investigate actual performance, dynamic characteristics LRBs, consistency LRB’s quality, so on. study three beam structures (S1–S3) different natural frequencies were installed both on table supported by four LRBs: (1) S1: structure close frequency; (2) S2: peak input spectral (3) S3: high-frequency region. The test results described various levels OBE (Operating Basis Earthquake), SSE (Safe Shutdown BDBE (Beyond Design compared analysis parameters. From tests, it is confirmed that reveal an adequate as intended LRB design.

Use of Shape Memory Alloys with Laminated Rubber Bearings in Seismic Isolation of Multi-Span Continuous Moderate to Strong Seismic Zones

This study is devoted towards evaluating seismic performance of a three-span continuous highway bridge subjected to moderate to strong earthquake ground motions in its longitudinal direction. In this regard, nonlinear dynamic analysis of the bridge based on the direct time integration approach using the 4 order Runge-Kutta method is conducted. Two types of isolation bearings are used in the ana...
